alhamduLillah for the time to ponder and take a break ... for a short while ... so let me share a couple of stories ...

update on this below ... :)

more about this below :)

Story Satu

To EPRD Putrajaya yesterday, with sahabat sepengajian. Sampai-sampai about 10.00 am, straight to the library. And what do you know. Disambut oleh petugas-petugas with the news that the "library is closed for today". It's being used for a farewell function of a retiring Ketua. My immediate response was "InnaLillahiwainna ilaihi raji'un".

the petugas tercengang then tertawa ... then i explained ... kita sebut InnaliLlah bila kesusahan dan musibah ... ini kesusahanlah ni ... dah datang dari jauh ... tiba-tiba tutup pula ... sememangnya InnaLillahiwainna Ilaihi raji'un ...
later i realized why he ketawa ... that maybe ... just maybe ... petugas to fikir saya ucap for the outgoing ketua ...

Story Dua

on the way to EPRD, my friend who was driving, passed a gravel-loaded lorry. There was canvas over the load ... and it was not the first lorry that we passed that morning ...

but this one was different ... as we passed ... gravels rained over our car ... and once out of the downpour ... we saw a small crack at the corner of the windscreen ... InnaLillahiwainna ilaihi raji'un ... i used to have that PLUS number for assistance or to report trouble on the road ... but i've lost it somehow ... so we were way out in front when i finally was able to locate one by the highway and reported what happen, with details, registration number and location where it occurred ...

that done ... but immediately soon after someone called from 'SPAD?' (have to check this one out) to get more details from me ... it appears PLUS has referred my report to them ... among other things it is good to have some evidence when reporting - photo for example - especially if it involves claims ...

I explained - no we are not asking for compensation or anything ... we just want PLUS to do something to stop them so that it will not happen to others too ...

that done ... i turned to my friend and asked her ... did we read "doa berjalan" just now? she said yes ... that's why tak marah ni ... masyaAllah ... :)

~

now for PLUS users here's the emergency number ...

1 800 88 0000

take note of location when reporting to them ... those numbers indicating the kilometers by the side of the highway (yes ... semua orang tahu :) ... just in case jika ada yang tak perasan :)

our own experience ...

- a flat tyre ... we needed cover from the flying vehicles that passed close by
- red cones used during road construction lying in the middle of the lane ... in the middle of a blind night ... on the fastest lane
- and about other objects lying on the lane ...

it's a useful number ... so do retain it :)

~

I love google :) ...
anything in mind ... there's always an answer ... relevant or not that's another matter altogether ... and today i googled "rain stone" and I discovered "yuhua" the rain flower stone ... nice isn't it :)

update ... 1
i found out that the flower rain stone is part of a family ... the agate. Further googling on agate got me here ...

Update - Wednesday Tuesday :) 20 May 2014

Kita kembali kepadaNya ... seadanya ...

After the battle, the Prophet and his companions went through the battlefield, bidding farewell to the martyrs. When they  came to Musab's body, tears flowed. Khabbah related that they could not find any cloth with which to shroud Musab's body,  except his own garment. When they covered his head with it, his legs showed and when his legs were covered, his head  was exposed and the Prophet instructed, "
"Place the garment over his head and cover his feet and legs with the leaves of the idhkhir (rue) plant."

so we look beyond now ... when we have so much MasyaAllah ...

the rue plant according to wiki  ... ruta graveolens ... herb of grace ... what a most appropriate name if this was the plant that covered the body of the sahabah r.a.

but the arabic name - idkhir - leads to another plant

idkhir plant ... source here ... cymbopogon schoenanthus ...serai of the desert

dear friends ... which do you think was the most likely plant that graced the body of the sahabah r.a.?

Wallahu'alam.

end of update ... :)

Hanya Satu Story - Laptop Masuk Hospital

tentang ... tipah? tertipu

sunday in the library as usual.
tetiba dialogue box appeared - si kapersky. katanya ... ada stranger katanya ... so apa you nak buat, kapersky tanya ... dia bagi 3 options. 1-delete (dia sebut nama benda tu). 2. skip. 3. add as exclusion. macam tu lah lebih kurang bunyinya. kerja banyak ni jadi saya fikir kalau boleh skip benda ni saya skip lah. nampak nama stranger tu macam okay je. saya skip, skip, skip banyak kali ... tak juga dialogue box tu disappear. kalau delete apa pula yang di delete tak tahu ... habis pulak fail nanti camana. tension sekejap so back-up the important files. then apa nak jadi yang tinggal mudahan okay je.
so i clicked on delete. tunggu je lah sikapersky buat kerja dia. tunggu-tunggu-tunggu - lamaaaaanya - dah lebih sejam okay! kerja banyak so jadi tak sabar ... saya clicked on cancel!!!

kawan-kawan pandai ict ... abaikan saja nasihat saya ni okay ... untuk yang lain don't ever ever click cancel kalau sikapersky tengah buat kerja dia ... huruhara besar!

langsung tak boleh buka files nak sambung kerja ... semuaaaa files ... nak nangis? no no no ... Alhamdulillah ... there must be khair in it! ... bawa tenang ... sabar ... sabar ... cuba buka back-up di pen drive tadi ...

oops tak juga boleh buka ... hmmmm ... and that's my only back-up ... yang lain-lain hilang dengan handbag hari tu ...

... alright ...
let's call dr computer ... supplier computer and barang-barang computer saya ... hari ahad ni tak sure kedai buka ke tidak ...

alhamduLillah ... itu ini itu ini ... dia kata akak bawa mari laptop kami tengok ... i said tolong cepat ye please ... dia jawab semua datang pasal virus nak cepat ... tak boleh tu kita kena clean betul-betul, akak kena tinggal laptop, we do it today pagi esok ambil.

okay ... what to do ... kita tawakkal and let them do their job ...

sampai kedai komputer ...   i showed them the stranger yang menggangu komputer tu ... dialogue box tu masih ada rupanya and nama stranger tu ...

"I AM NOT A VIRUS" ... (silap pula :)
the assistant kat kedai tu kata ... ini lah nama virus tu kak ... sama macam "I AM NOT TROJAN" ... laaaaaa ... ini pun boleh tertipu ...

i am just a user okay ... hal-hal lain memanglah minta maaf sangat ... but i've learnt my lesson insyaALLAH.

Petang tadi laptop checked out from the hospital ... AlhamduLillah syukur sangat everything intact ... it took awhile to clean and terminate the intruders ... because it kept on cloning itself ... ini kata dr computer tu ye ... saya repeat je :)
I must say my dr computer sangat membantu ... with a price of course ... but it's okay if they provide creditable service ...
So ...

first thing now BACK-UP ... banyak-banyak ... simpan situ ... simpan sini ... bawah tilam bawah bantal :)
Dropbox tak pandai pandai juga ...

i hope others may also be reminded of the importance of back-up bila buat kerja ...
AlhamduLillah syukur sangat-sangat selamat ... AlhamduLillah

:)
ini virus hanya dr hospital yang fasih ...

story satu ...

Sunday with rakan sebelajar di perpustakaan as usual ... during lunch break we took a table by the wall ... one across the other ... actually there were two tables side by side pushed to the wall. We took the aisle (macam dalam kapalterbang je bunyinya ye. saje :) side. Dah elok duduk mula makan, tetiba datang dua makhluk gender berbeza (kami perempuan, so opposite gender lah tu :) masuk to the inner table and duduk next to us ... also one across the other. Apa ke hal when so many other tables are available. we both were upset ... kurang sopan benar rasanya ... my dear friend dah rimas dah ... Then tetiba saja terkeluar tutur saya to pacify kawan ...
i said
"people from that continent have no respect for women"

rakan dan tetamu pembaca ...
silalah buat conclusion continent mana tu ... based upon your experience of course :)

kalau ikut research cara Glaser, a concept can only be credible when it fits ... maknanya kalau many berpendapat begitu tentang sesuatu hal ... then pendapat tersebut fits that hal ... till many others find many more negative cases (that is data contrary to that we have concluded) then that finding shall be modified accordingly ...

so do share your experience, boleh?

 story dua ...

on the phone ...
adik baru je balik dari kuliah tafseer Quran Al-Kareem ... so saya tanya ... "kuliah belajar apa, share lah sikit" ... adik jawab " oh kuliah ustaz (so and so) tafseer ayat dari Surah Al-Baqarah tentang cerai dan edah ... saya - "okay so apa yang dipelajari" ... adik - "tentang satu ayat tu saje" ... saya - "berapa jam kuliah?"

 barakAllah all :)

opportunity ... and evidence ... and two ladies and a girl

It's been awhile, let me sambung the review of Hadith 40 compiled by Imam Al-Nawawi rahimahuLLAH ...
Hadith No 23
Hastening to do Good
On the authority of Abu Malik al-Harith bin 'Asim al-Ash'ari(ra) who said: The Messenger of Allah(sas) said:

"Purification is half of iman (faith). Saying 'Al-Hamdulillah' (Praise be to Allah) fills the scales. Saying 'Subhanallah wa al-Hamdulillahi' (Exhalted be Allah and Praise be to Allah) fills the space between the heavens and the earth. Salah (prayer) is a light. Sadaqah (charity) is a proof. Sabr (patience) is a shining glory. The Qur'an is an argument either for you or against you. Everybody goes out in the morning and sells themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves."

... the Al-Quran Al-Kareem is evidence for you or against you ...

and every new day is an opportunity to do better ... for continuous improvement ...

and sabr is shining glory, shining light ...

and about acquiring knowledge and acting upon it ...

~

"This hadith encompasses fundamental principles of the religion and shows the importance of performing good deeds in Islam, through which every Muslim can free himself from the punishment of Allah (swt) in the Hereafter. Sh Jamaal Diwan further reminds us that every day is a new opportunity and that we should make the most of today and ensure that we are freeing (and not destroying) ourselves through our actions. 09.05.2014-Friday
update sini je ye ... something nice to share ... bahasa dan kehidupan

story satu ...
i came across two ladies and a girl yesterday. first lady wanted to buy something and girl was respectfully doing the translation for her because the salesperson could not communicate in both the ladies' language.

after a while i, as usual, the curious one, asked the girl whether the lady was her mother "emak ye?" and she said "yes, both of them :). this is my emak and this one my emak tiri". i was like ... masyaAllah. they were jalan-jalan nak beli itu ini dengan anak jadi translator. And both were mute. communicating in the sign language!

story dua ...
i wanted a piece of cake for my coffee and went to the counter to get one. meanwhile i watched a father who was not quite Melayu but Melayu juga (maknanya mixed lah tu :) buying loads of bits and pieces of pastries and sweet bread and pieces of cakes. next to him his young daughter (primary six i found out later) ... birthday ye i asked the daughter.  she looked at me flabbergasted, slight smile but not answering - hesitantly looking back and forth at her father and me (she must be thinking sibuk je makcik tua ni!). then father said "she's shy" oh i said boleh bahasa melayu tak? saya tanya - meaning her daughter. father kata boleh. sekolah international ye? saya teka-teka je (kegemaran kanak-kanak tadika ... main guessing guessing ... an excellent strategy for second language learning) (interview panjang pulak makcik ni!). ye kat Ampang Sekolah Saifol. Oh and i sambung sure adik tak pandai bahasa melayu ni ... ayah gelak.

okay ... itu je nak cerita. a productive weekend to all :)
