or "no parts of this paper can be used without permission of author". Rather, say "when using parts of this paper please give proper citation and help yourself". Be delighted if someone wants to quote you ... (p.7)

What i do remember ...


why we went to school ... i am talking about primary school in this case ...

anything special in school ... or was it because it was something we have to do ...

because our parents said get up, pergi mandi, siap, minum pergi sekolah ...

semua orang pergi sekolah ... kita pun pergilah sekolah ... apa hal pula kawan-kawan semua pergi sekolah kita duduk rumah ... kalau ponteng ada rasa malu tak agaknya ...
i don't remember this feeling of malu etc... because i don't remember pontenging ... new word alright.

but i remember ...

being either first, second or third in class ... berebut-rebutlah position yang tiga among the three of us ... a girl, my kawan baik KakCik ... a boy, anak Ustaz, Mohd Rose namanya (at that time i thought what a beautiful name he had, i am not sure ada e atau tidak dalam rosenya tu) and myself ... and another good friend Zaimon ... next to the three of us, no 4 ... ini yang ingat ... beyond the four of us i no longer remember exactly who were in the class ...

there was competition among us ... strong but friendly competition and collaboration ... bukan macam BN and PR sekarang ... ish tak mau cakaplah yang ini ...

in particular fierce competition and collaboration between me and kakcik (this is my friend kakcik not my sister kakcik ye ... ramai important kakciks in my life :)

kakcik ada makciknya yang juga cikgu di sekolah tu ... so i always felt that she had an advantage ... my mother tak pernah pergi sekolah pun ... so that feeling that i must beat her to the top position was a never ending quest for every penggal, every year ... dapat hadiah juga tiap-tiap tahun but ishhh tak sama, tak best tak no 1 ...

so i worked very very very hard and alhamduLillah final Penggal, Darjah 6, i finally achieved that First in Class ... what a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet feeling ...
because it was the culminating term and year and i didn't have to fight on to retain that position!

kenapa tetiba teringat sekolah rendah pula ni? ...

baru lepas interview one participant about his schooling experience ... what moved him on ...

~

would be nice to hear others' experiences too in Primary School ... not for research ... just to share if you please ...

    Real, the thing remembered most masa primary schoolkan, dah ada adik 3-4 orang... busy changing diapers, jaga adik.. jaga adik... jaga adik lagi... naik bus atok yg overcrowded dan jalan kaki everytime ada co-curriculum.
    Still, those were among the sweetest memories in my life.

      ohh sama sini. anak sulung ni jaga adik ... dukung adik ... enjut (ada tak dalam kamus dewan ni) buaian adik (this i liked because i could do my homework while enjut adik ... sampai mak kata adik dah tidur tinggalkan tolong buat ni ... )

      i would joke that i am shortest in the family because tak sempat nak tinggi asyik dukung adik-adik hehe ...

      truth be told ... of course all these had an impact on my love for school ... because nak avoid housework and dukung adiklah kan ... budak budak masa tu tak faham ikhlas pun ... now ikhlaslah hehe
