Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh
Alhamdulillah syukur ... for strength and preseverance ... for syukur and sabar ... for the ability to reflect and learn ... for imaan and istiqamah ... istiqamah is to tear down our own wall of ego ... for a total submission to Allah SWT ...

~

then may Allah SWT help us tear down other walls of life ...

And here's what the son of an Israeli General said ...
  Tear Down The Wall

~

why stones? i asked our Palestine Brother Guide about those stone throwing incidents ... "it's not about the stones ... it's their niat  ... because whenever they throw those stones deep in their heart they are remembering and making do'a for the fire stones that rained on Abrahah" ... as described in Surah al Fil - The Elephant (Surah 105) ...

" 1) Have you not seen what your Lord did with the army of the elephant? 2) Did He not utterly foil their schemes? 3) He unleashed flock after flock of birds against them, 4) pelting them with stones of hard-baked clay, 5) making them like stripped wheat-stalk eaten bare."

Defeated by trees ...

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
 اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh

Alhamdulillah syukur ... for understanding in bits and pieces ...

~

I was reading this ...

an article that originally appeared in Utusan Malaysia (in fact i read this in Utusan Malaysia last week and it's somewhere among the pile of "old newspapers" (read it like that of old newspapers buyer - only in Malaysia) ...
i had a mind to scan that article then ... and write about it but then i procrastinate(d?). Today i came across it again while google searching for something ... as usual :)

~

and that article led me to this ...

for a brief on the event please copy and paste this address ... about Eli Cohen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkS2gMWh8-Y

a Zionist spy caught in Syria ... the above was an excerpt from Radio of Israel about their hero ... why i did not link it ... the truth is once in a while i received virtual visitors from Israel ... once in while okay ... but not too often ... i am not important okay :)

~

i share this because being a wanita myself i used not to pay heed to such matters of the nations ... because i thought it is beyond my control ... and "i'm not even the mayor of the city" (this is another story altogether :) ...

but then again i realize that however small or insignificant we think we are ... writing and sharing of information is indeed a powerful means of disseminating understanding of real life issues about the ummah ...

we may agree or we may disagree ... but we should be able to ponder based upon varieties of information ... and decide what is closest to the truth - that is in the case where we could not determine the truth ...

~

now ... defeated by trees ... alludes to the advice of Eli Cohen to the Syrian to plant trees as shade for  the Syrian Armies ...

and the same trees were used by the Zionist army to locate and destroyed the Syrian ... during the six days war ...

~

lesson learned is ... sometimes something appeared to be good advice ... but we also must understand thoroughly the person and his or her agenda for the advice ...

my favourite is the SWOT analysis ... the easiest method for decision making in real life ... and Istikharah Solat seeking Allah's guidance :) ... in this i was reminded by Al Marhum Datin Ustazah (May Allah SWT forgive and redha her) ... she said do Istikharah Solat even for your daily affair ... seeking Allah's guidance for every step we take ...

Allahu'alam

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh
Alhamdulillah syukur ... for leaders who left us their legacy and history of being the best ... in iman and in their amal ...

age is just but a number ... may Allah SWT give barakah to each moment of our life, for every breath that we take and for every word that we utter ... ameen Allahumma ameen.
~
I was reading about the life of a young man Almarhum Ahmad Ammar ... who in death at 20 has started teaching us that it is not about age ... rather it is about strength of iman and character ... and vision for self and the ummah ...

in life he acquired ... and in death he gave ... May Allah SWT be pleased with him and station him among the pious and the shaheed. ameen Allahumma ameen.

It's been a long time ... let me continue with my review of Hadith 40 compiled by Imam Al-Nawawi rahimahuLLAH ...
Hadith No 22
Abu ‘Abdullah Jabir bin ‘Abdullah al-Ansari (ra) reported that a man questioned the Messenger of Allah (sas) saying:

"Do you see, if I pray the prescribed (prayers), fast during Ramadan, treat the lawful as permissible and treat the forbidden as prohibited, but do nothing more than that, shall I enter Paradise?" He (the Prophet(sas)) answered: "Yes."

Palestine ... Judaism ... Zionism ... and The Wall

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
 اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh

Alhamdulillah syukur ... AlhamduLillah syukur for nikmat iman dan aman ... mudahan semua sihat dan dalam rahmat Allah SWT sentiasa Ameen Ya Rabb ...

~

the ziarah to Baitul Maqdis opened up a floodgate of the Palestine history both recent and ancient ... and my trying to make sense of them ...

for today let me share this ...

an extract ...

Rabbi Ahron Cohen, rabbi Manchester, England
My Friends, we are here today to protest against the terrible wrongs which have been perpetrated and continue to be perpetrated against the Palestinian People by the Zionist illegitimate regime (known as Israel) in Palestine. My colleagues and I here today come under the banner of Neturei Karta which is the name of the opposition philosophy to Zionism held by Orthodox Jews.
You may well ask: how come we Jews are here protesting in support of Palestinians - who many would think of as enemies of the Jews? The answer, my friends, is that the Palestinian dispute is with the Zionists and not with the Jews. Zionism and Judaism are two completely different and opposing ideas. Orthodox Jews sympathise entirely with the Palestinian cause. Jewish Orthodox teaching is totally opposed to Zionism on grounds of religious belief and on grounds of Jewish religious values of humanitarianism.
Our belief, going back thousands of years, teaches us that the Jewish People are and have been for the last two thousand years or so in a state of exile decreed by the A-lmighty because they did not maintain certain high standards expected of them. We have been dispersed around the world and our duty is to live as loyal subjects of which ever country we are in. Furthermore, we are forbidden to attempt to form our own regime in Palestine. And we are warned of dire consequences if we attempt to override this prohibition. To do so is considered a rebellion against the A-lmighty. So, on grounds of religious belief we have no right today to form a regime in Palestine.
The Zionist philosophy, formed about 100 years ago by irreligious non-believers, is that the Jewish People have to fight their own way out of exile. They do not accept in any way the religious prohibition of this action and their approach to the matter of exile is diametrically opposite to the religious passive approach.
But perhaps what is more understandable to the non-Jewish world in the opposition of Judaism to Zionism is the fact that the Zionist ideology was to take over a country with an existing indigenous population and to form a sectarian State irrespective of the consequences to that indigenous people, depriving them of their homes and country. This was a shocking contravention of humanitarian justice. Humanitarian justice is also a tremendously important element in Jewish Religious values. The Zionists have thrown this completely overboard in their nationalistic quest for a State of their own. On these grounds too Orthodox Judaism opposes them entirely.
Because of the above the whole idea of a Zionist State is a flawed concept and is the underlying cause of the strife in the Middle East. As Jews, we are ashamed of our brethren who have followed the Zionist path and we wish to state that Zionists do not in any way represent the Jewish People as they would like to have the world believe. (Approximate Transcript of speech given in Trafalgar Square, London, in connection with the Al Quds demonstration march in support of the Palestinian cause, October 30, 2005)
It constantly amazes me when I observe the protestation of nations such as the USA and the UK that they must protect and preserve the rights of the „democratic State‟ Israel against threats to its existence, when the whole concept of Israel was and is patently non-democratic, and when by a short look back in history it can be seen that the whole Zionist State was begat by the very violence (and the UK was a victim of this violence) against which these countries now protest…
My friends, of course no one but no one wants violence. But I have a dream which may now seem unrealistic (but who knows): if those who have the power to deliver were to announce sincerely, “We are prepared to abandon the sacred cow concept of a sectarian Zionist State and to discuss its dissolution in its present concept and form,” you would have peace in Palestine. Jews and Arabs are perfectly capable of living peacefully with each other, as they have done for centuries, if the cause of their conflict is removed. It is obvious to any objective observer that the cause of conflict in Palestine is the very existence of the flawed and criminal concept of the Zionist State. Peace will not be achieved until that concept is dismantled. The governments of the world could bring this about and our prayer is that this should happen peacefully and speedily. (Talk at the Houses of Parliament, January 31, 2006)
But we do have a problem and that is that the Zionists have made themselves to appear as the representatives and spokespeople of all Jews and, with their actions, arouse animosity against all Jews. Then those who harbour this animosity are accused of anti-Semitism. So although it is abundantly clear that opposition to Zionism and its crimes does not imply hatred of Jews or anti-Semitism, however the wrongs of Zionism are a cause of anti-Zionism overflowing into old fashioned anti-Semitism; and, paradoxically, Zionism itself and its deeds, instead of being a remedy for anti-Semitism, are in fact the biggest cause of anti-Semitism. Furthermore Zionism actually feeds on anti-Semitism. (Talk to the Cambridge Students‟ Union, February 6, 2006)

The pinks of yesterdays among the whites of today ...

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
 اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh
Alhamdulillah syukur ... for kampung ... and the reason for going back to kampung ... abah and emak ... because what is kampung tanpa abah dan emak ... May Allah SWT reda dan kasihankan all abah dan emak, yang masih ada juga yang telah kembali kepadaNya, ameen Allahumma ameen.

~

thursday i drove back to kampung ... i'm not kidding our kampung is so ulu that mobile access at our (kampung) house is very limited. So our parents had only that land line ... and that past few days they could not be contacted ... the both of them are quite fragile but very independent ... there are relatives and neighbours but they are all a motorbike (since they don't cycle :) distant away. So i decided early in the morning to drive back ... and since i was on my own (husband at work) ... i took my own sweet time lingering and enjoying the route and what it had to offer ...

please let me share ... the sweet life i noted on the road (what can i say i'm a simple kampung girl :)

~

there's a stretch of straight road in Ulu Bendul ... just before the Ulu Bendul Mosque ... and right smacked by the sawah, i stopped at a small warung-only-for-breakfast- served-till-11.00am :)

by the way this was a very small but very populated warung ... you can see from a distant, cars parked by the roadside ... since that stretch of road was quite straight, cars zoomed by ... and i thought that that was a very dangerous parking stretch ... i hope the warung owner will do something about a safer parking area for his customers ...

the warung served Nasi Lemak with all its condiments plus beef rendang and fried chicken, Roti Canai and its variation, mee kari, mee sup, etc. i ordered for home ... but my eyes were glued to a plant with so many beautiful big white blooms and what looked like red buds by the entrance to the warung ...

while waiting for the order ... i wandered out and got some images with the old telephone of mine ...

the plant ... from the back of the warung ... and a glimpse of a customer enjoying his breakfast in situ ... click on all the images for a better view :)

the gorgeous white bloom about 6-7 cm across ... sorry my tel camera really really did not do justice to this beautiful creation ... masyaAllah

the pink ones were not buds ... they were actually spent flowers ... you can see different smaller buds ... and it was most interesting when i was told by the lady owner that the blooms started white but by noon they turned pink and stayed on the plant for a while before dropping off ... and so you'll see the pinks of yesterdays among the whites of today ... what a lovely life!

but ... its name ... i asked the owner who did not know either but the staff supplied me with a most amazing answer ... "bunga tombong boghuk" she said ... apa dia? i asked again ...not believeing my ears ... then she said "ada oghang panggil bunga tisu" ... when i came home ... i googled "bunga tombong beruk" (i'm not going to translate this okay:) and "bunga tisu" ... but unless i've an ancient version of google (hehe tame joke) ... there was no information on this name!

i hope someone can enlighten me :)

the warung from the back ... with the tail end of Banjaran Titiwangsa still in mist in the background ... and the plant ... and the small stream that our NSembilan of old refer to as "bonda" mouth opened wide for the "a" ... not bonde as in ibu :)

i was standing just next to the car parked dangerously by the roadside ... but alone ... i'm always always a slow very curious cat ...

while taking the packed breakfast ... i requested the owner for cuttings of the plant ... and she happily obliged ... her staff with a sharp parang gave me a branch that she cut into three small cuttings ... they are easy to grow  she said ... it appeared that impressed customers regularly requested for these cuttings ... masyaAllah.

and i hope to see them starting soon in my mother's Laman Besar Sikit (in contrast to my Laman Kecik :)

~

next ... just after Ulu Bendul ... Terachi ... and this was what made me stopped by the roadside again! this time the verge was quite wide ... right befor the exit to Restaurant Warisan in the middle of the reclaimed padi field ...

i love the look of this brown earthy lumpur ... those were the days when i was young, kicik and loud with my cousins in kampung "gotong royong" in the sawah ... :)

i can smell the earth ... :)

that was only about a quarter of the journey ... more later insyaAllah ...

take care all ... syukur again AlhamduliLLah for kampung ... seeking and remembering the pinks of yesterdays among the whites of today ... and teardrops slowly searching the corner of my eyes ...
:)
