riding the crest ... and suhaili

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
 اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh
Alhamdulillah syukur ...
AlhamduLillah syukur ... Allahuakbar ... He the Most High gives cabaran ... but setiap satu ada cara selusur nya ... buat kita yang mahu belajar ... the wonder will never end ...

" And His are the ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains."
<Qur'an-Rahman 55:24>

" We have honoured the sons of Adam, provided them with transport on land and sea..."
<Qur'an-Al 'Isrâ 17:70>

finding MH370 ... leads  me to the mysterious world of sailing ... and many lessons learned on human's capability to survive a challenge ...

here are some samples of ...
riding the crest of tough and turbulent times ... over and over ...
in company ...

and alone ...

at 29 ... a bearded young man - the winner of the Sunday Times Golden Globe round-the-world race of 1968-1969, in which he had sailed alone in his 32-foot ketch some 30,123 nautical miles at an average speed of 4.02 knots, without putting into a port, without anchoring, and without any outside assistance ... 312 days - 10 months of alone-ness ... and the ability to not sleep ...

"... i've no right to let me down after taking me this far ... "

Occasionally you'd get feeling a bit down, and you'd say, well, if this was easy, someone would have done it. I've got the chance to do it, because it isn't easy. So I'd better stop whinging because it's difficult and just get on with it. So I sort of talked myself around it ...

in Suhaili ...
the painting ... the painter's story here

the object ... started as a log ... the builder's story here

hand built from local teak in Bombay and named "Suhaili" - "Companion" in arabic ... is also the arabic name for the local south-east wind ... sailors' companion at sea ...
for what is a sailboat without wind ...

and the route ... more here

~

and Suhaili is the name ...
a companion ...
tough, strong and trustworthy ... MasyaAllah

 so let go of our children ...
to the oceans ... the air ... mountains and forests ... and the wild deserts both cold and hot ...
