Tersentak lagi ...

Assalamualaikum wbt ...

wat heppe ... more here

~

I don't know about now ... but the last time i was at the Changi Airport Singapore ... nak solat tak ada surau but they have a common praying room for all faiths ... cuma masing masing pray according to their faith quietly ...

that is acceptable to me because itu bukan negara Islam and i do not expect them to understand us ...
and the praying room mereka tak label sebagai surau ... ganjil nampaknya ... but to me it is just a common quite space for anyone to devote a few minutes of his or her time with the Creator.

and ... when i was at the Moscow airport ... i solat bawah tangga je ... away from public path ... but in public view ... also tak ada masalah ... even if previously some others have done prayers of their own faith at the same space ...

then ... while berpeleseran dengan adik dari Liverpool to Land's End ... solat mana mana sempat ... kat pavement parking lot lepas singgah refresh barang bekal dalam perjalanan pun boleh ... bawa je mat bentang sajadah sorang solat sorang keep guard ... bergilir gilir gitu ...

unlike di States ... highway travels mudah berhenti rest area je ... solat kat park ... memang rasa senang dan tenang ... bentang mat atas rumput tu ...

but ...

when we have labelled a place a surau ... then there is a different kind of expectation kan ... kena lah jaga adab kan ...

maaf zahir batin ... maafkan mereka yang tersilap ... and Allahu'alam

and malam tadi just before midnight ... kacau suami ... meh lah keluar kejap ... kita drive sampai kat hujung jalan kat masjid ...

nak buat apa ... suami tanya ...
nak tengok meteor shower ... baca paper online ... it said we can watch this unaided ... best between 11.00pm monday to before fajar tuesday ...arah timur laut katanya ... ada yang tak tau timur laut kat mana ke? hehehe ...

please i said ... kena banyak kali please because suami tak lah into it sangat hehe ...

so keluar lah kami ... orang dah berdengkur dah .. masjid tu atas bukit sikit so i thought sure tempat lapang senang tengok kan ...
we parked just outside the gate of the mosque ... duduk dalam kereta ... tengok awan banyak melindung bintang ... so i said tunggu setengah jam ye ... sambil berdoa supaya awan tu bergerak ... doa doa doa ... masyaAllah terbuka sikit nampak bintang satu, dua, tiga ... but no meteor shower ...

setengah jam janji dah nak habis ... but tak nampak apa juga ... so  i pleaded with suami ... please recite Surah Al-Buruuj ... please ... mungkin ada rezeki tengok ... so he started to recite ... sekali ... halfway berhenti ... sekali lagi ... halfway berhenti lagi ... then a third time ... halfway berhenti juga lagi ... laaa tak hafal ... lupa ye i said ... ye lah he jawab ... i have to revise he said ... he dah hafal dah Surah tu so now seperti kata Ustazah Datin Hajjah Kamariah (Almarhumah, may Allah SWT redha with her and placed her among the blessed) guru usrah saya di Brunei ... bila kita dah hafal satu satu Surah lepas tu lupa kita kena qadha katanya ... maksudnya kena make sure hafal semula ...
begitu lah ...

now back to meteor ...
setengah jam up ... so baliklah kami ... tanpa meteor memory ... sambil menurun jalan nampak anak anak muda borak borak tepi kereta depan rumah mereka sambil memerhati kami ...
apalah agaknya dalam kotak minda mereka terhadap kami yang berdua dua dalam kereta parked depan masjid tu ... :)

Macam lawyer ...

kadang-kadang bila bercengkerama (read berbeza pendapat ... :) dengan orang rumah ... he would say ... kenapa you cakap macam lawyer ... macam dalam mahkamah je ... ini bukan mahkamah ni ...

lama-lama baru perasan ... cara pertuturan kita tu sangat-sangat dipengaruhi oleh pembacaan awal kita ...

dari sejak pandai membaca ... my favourite genre (suami punya perkataan ni ye ... saya nak sebut pun kelu lidah ... DLL Dr boleh tolong mungkin ... sebab suka makan coklat cap gajah ... :)

makanya saya sangatlah suka cerita-cerita misteri, penyiasatan dsbnya.

Agatha Christie ni yang paling santailah ... among others ...

so bahasa percakapan pun terbawa-bawa ...

sekarang pula genre santai UPIN dan IPIN ...

yang paling sangat susah saya nak ...mmmm ... telan ... tetapi dah boleh terima dah ...

... ialah ... yang ini ...

Baju Kurung

Salam Dear Sisters ...

Many things but could not move the thoughts into this frame ... among others ...

1. June 6, Husband finally got an old car for himself and passed on the auto which is lighter and easier to me ... so goodbye taxis for a long long time I hope ...

2. Dearest Hajjah R and Husband Haji S from Brunei came for a course ... alhamduLiLLAH so thankful for such dear friends in this short and challenging life ...

3. After a long time again I met Pak Cik in front of the Bank ...Why  we as a nation cannot sort this sad situation out ... is it help ... is it enforcement ... what is it  that is required ... Husband would say to me that I am not the mayor of the city ...

 4. Met a sweet Chinese girl in KFC today, pusing-pusing* while waiting for her mother in queue. She was in Baju Kurung*. I am drawn to this because a few days ago our newspapers highlighted some state executives and councillors refused to wear the traditional uniform that reflects the local culture ... they stated their reasons of course but ...

Anyway back to this girl, "Adik sekolah di mana?" I asked ... Seri Puteri she said. Oh ramai kawan Melayu di sana ye? I tanya lagi ... Yes, majority ... she said. Uniform baju kurung ke? I asked again. She nodded, ye baju kurung and also pinnafore pun boleh ... Tapi adik suka Baju Kurung ye? I enquired ... Ye she nodded smilingly ...

Without sounding like a mayor ... I would say that this country is perfectly alright for the under 12. Beyond that we start to have our self vision of Malaysia ...just compare the behaviour of the State Executives and Councillors with that of this sweet Chinese girl ...

Translation:

1. Baju Kurung - a common dress worn by the Malay women of Malaysia. A traditional dress.Cheong Sam - traditional dress of Chinese women; Sari - traditional dress of Indian women.
2. Pusing-pusing - going here and there, keeping oneself busy without any specific purpose. Literally, pusing -round; pusing-pusing is round and round.
3. Adik sekolah di mana - Which school do you go to? Adik is a common way to address the younger ones. Adik - younger sister/brother.
4. Ramai - many
5. Kawan - friend(s)
6. Melayu -Malay

Salam and love ...
