Story Satu

To EPRD Putrajaya yesterday, with sahabat sepengajian. Sampai-sampai about 10.00 am, straight to the library. And what do you know. Disambut oleh petugas-petugas with the news that the "library is closed for today". It's being used for a farewell function of a retiring Ketua. My immediate response was "InnaLillahiwainna ilaihi raji'un".

the petugas tercengang then tertawa ... then i explained ... kita sebut InnaliLlah bila kesusahan dan musibah ... ini kesusahanlah ni ... dah datang dari jauh ... tiba-tiba tutup pula ... sememangnya InnaLillahiwainna Ilaihi raji'un ...

later i realized why he ketawa ... that maybe ... just maybe ... petugas to fikir saya ucap for the outgoing ketua ...

Story Dua

on the way to EPRD, my friend who was driving, passed a gravel-loaded lorry. There was canvas over the load ... and it was not the first lorry that we passed that morning ...

but this one was different ... as we passed ... gravels rained over our car ... and once out of the downpour ... we saw a small crack at the corner of the windscreen ... InnaLillahiwainna ilaihi raji'un ... i used to have that PLUS number for assistance or to report trouble on the road ... but i've lost it somehow ... so we were way out in front when i finally was able to locate one by the highway and reported what happen, with details, registration number and location where it occurred ... 

that done ... but immediately soon after someone called from 'SPAD?' (have to check this one out) to get more details from me ... it appears PLUS has referred my report to them ... among other things it is good to have some evidence when reporting - photo for example - especially if it involves claims ...

I explained - no we are not asking for compensation or anything ... we just want PLUS to do something to stop them so that it will not happen to others too ...

that done ... i turned to my friend and asked her ... did we read "doa berjalan" just now? she said yes ... that's why tak marah ni ... masyaAllah ... :)

- and about other objects lying on the lane ...

di hujung jari je ... snip snip buat lubang sikit kat tanah tu cucuk kan je dia ... kalau nak tegak lurus tanam satu satu upright ... kalau nak banyak beranak nya ... buat lubang di tanah tu memanjang ... tidurkan je cutting tu atas tanah ... nanti dia tumbuh beratur ... letaklah compost sikit kalau ada ... masyaAllah ... mudah je kan ...

this small square has 2 varieties of ferns and 1 variety of caladium ... bawahnya moss atas batu batu kecik ... and i put in aster kuning bawah keladi tu sebelah kanan daunnya baru nak mengintai ... periwinkle kat depan tu kecik kecik lagi ... i hope they can fight the elements and show us that they are "women of substance" ... hehe kut lah ada yang masih ingat that novel "woman of substance" ...

bila saya tinggalkan tak tinjau tinjau ... hidup lah mereka among the weeds ... berlumba lumba lah pula the weeds trying to overpower and demolish them ...

but they are true survivors ... bila kemaskan semak semak tu semula ... berseri kembang melentok lentoklah bunganya ... 

yang melentok si bintang kuning tu ... over the curb (kerb) dah ...

yang buat saya merajuk bukan apa ... malam malam kucing jiran buat tempat tidur dia atas kelompok bunga tu ... daun nya soft je empuk je as a bedding agaknya ... pagi pagi tengok semua kemek macam kena pijak je plant tu ...

bintang ungu lurus tegak naturenya ... 

lama tak ambil berat ni baru nak pujuk pujuk belai semula ... yang ini tak sedap buat bedding agaknye ... kucing tak kacau ... :)

Catecholamines ... and abscisic acid

catecholamines ... 

do i know how to pronounce this? ... haha ... no matter ...

here is a feeler about this hormone ...

When we are angry our body releases hormones called catecholamines. These hormones generate energy. That is why we suddenly feel like we have a burst of renewed strength. Then in turn our adrenal organs begin to work overtime which is why we feel on edge. These adrenal organs will continue working overtime as long as we are thinking about the situation that made us angry in the first place. This is why we can stay angry and on edge from hours to days.

AlhamduLillah syukur ... by this day of  barakah a lot of this and that have been completed ... i will not worry about the yet to be completed because life is not for me to confirm ... so alhamduLillah for the things accomplished ...

by monday midnight successfully submitted one paper for a conference ... i would hazard that most people were also doing the last minute thingy ... because it took a long while to access and finally submit the paper online ... i was worried that i would miss it ... lesson learned is to submit way way before the due date ... but then again the thrill of a last minute job is always there hehe ...

tuesday was tingkat 2 day ... i had 1 month less than the requisite 6 months valid pasport for foreign travel ... so hendak tak hendak kenalah seperti biasanya bersesak sesak renew pasport kat seremban wisma persekutuan ... lewat sikit tiba 10.45am but alhamduLillah unlike zaman dedulu selesailah juga slightly after 2p.m. ... yang lama nya menunggu giliran to the counter which was about 2 hours ... but the pasport was ready soon after lunch break ... they must have worked thru the lunch hours ... in fact nampak juga one officer dalam office tu sambil makan sambil buat kerja ... tak keluar lunch lah tu ... thank you thank you ... 

and kalau ada sesiapa yang belum tahu ... here is the new pasport photo requirement ...

thursday pagi pagi pusing pusing cari parking nak tinggalkan kereta nak ke KL by what else my favourite commuter ... tak ada ... penat pusing ... so finally ended up at Terminal 1 ... naik bus je lah ...

penuh juga parking lots ... pusing pusing sampai tingkat 6 wah nampak one end lot - cantik tempat tu ... so dah lambat ni zoomed je and parked ... turun naik bas seremban - KL ...

turun kat central market ... tanya teksi nak ke SDB jln ampang next to maya hotel ... teksi guy - melayu - said rm25 ... no meter ... okay ... tanya another taxi - india - pakai meter tak ... he said ye ... sampai rm 13 ... alhamdulillah ... 

dari SDB nak balik ke central market ... tahan teksi - india - tanya pakai meter - jawabnya tidak ... tahan another one - melayu ... tanya pakai meter ... ye ... sampai central market semula cuma rm7 sahaja!!! ... AlhamduliLlah ... since dah bersedia nak beri dia rm 13 tadi ... so beri rm10 padanya ... Allah SWT mudahan murahkan rezekinya ... ameen ...

so now rasa rasanya naik bas je bila nak berurusan kat KL tu ... only disadvantage is i can't read in a bus ... pening muntah karang ... but not in the commuter ... walau lama sikit perjalanannya boleh je baca kerja ... dalam bas tidur je lah apa lagi ...

sampai ke Terminal 1 seremban jam 8.00 malam ... bila nak keluar baru perasan ... tingkat 6 during weekdays khusus untuk LHDN ... wahhh alhamduliLlah nasib je tak kena clamp ...

so elok juga sesiapa yang ada limpahan untuk investment ... invest bina parking lot bertingkat dekat railway station tu ...

anyway ada sahabat yang muda ni tak suka betul dengan "dekat dekat ... dekat dekat" cikgu tu ... tension betul dia ... saya pun tak suka juga tetapi tak lah tension sebab buat tak dengar je bila dia suruh dekat dekat tu ... one day sahabat ni tak tahan sangat tak sukanya she cakap to another younger male member in the group "tolong cakap pada cikgu tu jangan suruh kami dekat dekat ... malu tau tak ... kami perempuan ... dia cakaplah kami boleh dengar ... suruh dekat dekat buat apa ..." she lepas geram ... the younger guy and us all gelak tengok sahabat tu marah ...

balik rumah i narrated the incident to suami who knew him and tanya suami why he was like that ... suami tak faham juga so he said he shouldn't have done that ...

then selepas senyap sebentar ... rupanya suami bersoal jawab dalam mindanya ... and tetiba dia cakap ... okay now i got it ... it is a habit ... dalam jemaah masa ta'alim it is usual for the leader to say to others "dekat dekat" bila nak mula ta'alim ...

ohhh okay barulah faham ... that principal is a Jamaat Tablighi person ...

... itu lah kan bila tak tahu "Mengapa" kita selalu tension dengan "Apa"...

a week or so ago ... i met someone who was out of my experience ... she was insisting on something and in the process i "kena" left and right ... butting into the tirade was not an option as she bombarded me with her collections of english cliche and idioms ... i kept my blood iced ... menikus je ... because i have learned to listen and one must listen well in order to mitigate the banjir of words both pleasant and unpleasant ... mostly in English ...

when she was done ... perlahan perlahan saya cakap ... what do you do actually ... 

and she jawab maaaacam puan yang sorang tu sini ... "i tak kerja ... menghabiskan duit laki je" ... haha

okay despite the earlier harshness ... she had good sense of humour ... 

you're a very lucky girl ... i responded ...

and feeling warmer i took a guess ... you must be a lawyer ...

ha ... do i look like one ... she was surprised ...

well you talked like one ... i said (based upon my experience with loyar buruk lah not real loyar hehe ...)

Assalamualaikum wbt ...

i have three favourite t-shirts for home ... with three different captions - printed loud across the chest ...

one blood red shirt says ... SUPER CUTE GIRL with a smiley

one pink shirt says ... GORILLA  ... original in no zent (back)

one white shirt says ... MOUSE ... forget me no (back)

kan senang je kalau ambil picture je kan ... uhhh dah lusuh dah ... namanya pun favourite ... basuh pakai basuh pakai hehe ...

... neither am i a girl (maksudnya i am a lady lah now and super cute yes haha jangan percaya) nor a mouse and definitely not a gorilla ... but those captions more or less sum up my real self ...

mostly calm and sweet ... sometimes macam tikus mondok je diam buat bodoh ... and very very rarely macam gorilla  kena cucuk ...

dan bila dia (tak mau terima kenyataan maka saya jadi dia) transform jadi gorilla ... baik pergi jauh jauh atau diam je jangan balas jangan inject pula lagi ...

i am only human kan ... and so is everybody ... 

dalam urusan saya hari-hari macam macam yang unik saya temui ... yang saya sikit pun tak terfikir ... i listen to them and all sorts of real life scenarios unfold ... 

so i have learned not to be too quick to sum up a judgement ... 

because the root i cannot see ... the many WHYs that lead to the WHAT ... 

some may be obvious ... some may not ...

and so please allow me to share this then ... my dad was not an angry man ... son says ...

I love dates ... too much :) breakfast dates with toast and cheese and tea and sometimes like yesterday for dinner ... with briyani brought over by a friend who has just opened a new eating place in seremban ... mmmm

but this is about something else ... i like this particular type of kurma ... the tunisian because it is just nicely firm yet soft to the bite ... and not too sweet  ...

a few days ago i bought a pack similar to this one below from an Arab shop in the hypermarket.  ... how much i asked picking a packet of tunisian dates ... rm15 the sales assistant - an Arab said ... this one rm14 he offered a second brand cheaper because it was less by 100gm ... okay i'll take the first one i said ... it looked so yummy tak banyak cakaplah saya ... i was still there tengok tengok barang lain nampak pula Arab cheese ... rm6 he said ... two for rm10 he further offered ... okay please give me two i said ... mereka tak berapa pandai bahasa melayu so cakap BI je lah.

then a couple came ... tengok tengok kurma juga ... the man tanya berapa ni ... rm15 ... man pegang pack tu and tanya lagi rm10? ... and i like terlopong ... dalam hati that much less he wanted??? ... man tu tak main main - dia serious minta ... nampak sales assistant tu macam serba salah ... no he said ... saya pula yang naik sedih ... and seperti biasanya i pula yang menyibuk -  tolong explained to the man ... yang ini rm15 - yang ini pula rm14  sebab kurang100gm ... kurang rm1 okay kot ... dalam hati harap dia faham maksud saya janganlah minta discount macam tu sekali ... berpada padalah ... kan

(by the way ... i am pretty sure he could afford it ... if otherwise tak de lah bercerita saya ni ... lagi pula saya minta salesperson tu kesian kat customer kalau nampak tak mampu ... kalau real fakir tolong belikan untuknya pun insyaAllah ... mesti ada perlunya fakir tu nak beli kan ...)

i cerita pada oghang besar dighumah ... and dia kata betul lah that man bargaining tu sunnah ... and i said ye lah but biarlah berpada pada jangan sampai buat orang sampai rasa serba salah ...

kalau unpleasant salesperson dia akan buat selamba and ignore you suruh blah je ... but nice people yang hatinya lembut memang rasa serba salah ... percayalah ...

kalau kita makan dekat hot plate entah apa apa tak sunnah pun ... empat beranak sekeluarga for example ... four plates about rm20++ ... ada kita minta discount? 10 sen pun tidak kan! ...

ni sunnah food ... benda baik ... from a developing muslim nation ... tak usahlah berkira sangat ... kan

and oghang besar kata lagi dah banyak untung retailer tu ... still i am not convinced ... ni makanan bukan kain tudung ke atau non-essential items ...

pergi body shop atau kedai perancis yang nama pun tak reti nak pronounce tu (dah sampai ke sini pula hehe ... macam ni lah when something in principle bothers me) ... most of the raw material is from africa community trade tu (macam argan oil tu) ... fikir how much they buy from the community and how much the products are sold to us ... but in this case the customers are mostly perempuan ... tak banyak kisah kan ...boleh beli ambil - kalau tidak -tinggalkan je ... simple je perempuan ni kan ... itu sebab elok sangat perempuan jadi menteri ... aman ... lurus ulu bendul je macam saya lah ye ... kalau tak setuju angkat tangan ... hehehe :)
